Editorial intelligence for U.S. community banking

About

Community Bank Intelligence answers three questions the transaction lists and call-report dumps never do: what changed, why it matters, and what a director, advisor, or investor could do about it. It combines two things under one roof — Bank Peer Analytics, a benchmarking tool built on more than a decade of FFIEC and FDIC filings, and a daily editorial feed on charters, mergers, and supervisory actions, written and checked by people, not just generated. Every fact is sourced back to the filing it came from.

Who’s behind it

Jim Cooper served as Deputy Director of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions and President/CEO of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors. He currently serves as a director of a community bank in Indiana. He spent his career in financial institution policy, regulation, and governance. He writes and edits financial policy coverage and built Community Bank Intelligence from the same discipline: nothing goes out that isn’t source-verified and traceable back to the record.

Facts above are drawn from primary records: federal data, regulators' filings and the banks' own announcements. Where a stage rests on a structural record rather than a document, the row names that record, and some older records are still being re-sourced against primary documents. Items marked "Developing" come from such a record but have not yet been confirmed by an editor. Updated October 15, 2026.
